pet peeve：个人生活习惯上的一些小毛病，
"Everybody has his pet peeve."
The situation put him into a peeve.

如果一个美国人问你，“What is your pet peeve?” 这又是什么意思呢？原来，在peeve前面加了pet，意思就不同了。
比如，It rains a lot where Tom works. Bad weather, it seems, is Tom’s pet peeve.
