China has launched its third aircraft carrier, the Fujian, in Shanghai on Friday.
The carrier, named after the Chinese southern province, was completely designed and manufactured by China.
The Fujian is equipped with a full-length flight deck and an electromagnetic catapult launch system.
Mooring and navigation tests are to be conducted on the aircraft carrier.
It has a full-load displacement of 80,000 tonnes or more.
It's equipped with electromagnetic catapults and arresting devices.
And with a hull code of 18, this aircraft carrier has been built at China State Building Corp's Jiangnan Shipyard Group in Shanghai.
It will join the Shandong, which was commissioned in late 2019, as well as the Liaoning.
The Liaoning is a former Soviet ship, while the Shandong was China's first domestically-built aircraft carrier.
Chinese authorities say its design maximizes the effectiveness.
