A terrifying attack on the subway in Brooklyn, New York,
at least 29 people were injured when a man in a gas mask set off a canister of smoke and opened fire.
As the subway train approached its station, people in the doomed car slammed on a stuck connecting door to try to escape the carnage within.
When the train doors finally opened, a plume of smoke and panicked commuters flowed out.
Some of them limping, wounded by the mass shooter among them.
It was horrifying, and people were just terrified.
It happened during the morning rush on the Manhattan-bound N train, as it rolled through Brooklyn's Sunset Park neighborhood approaching a stop as the rampage began.
An individual on that train donned what appeared to be a gas mask. He then took a canister out of his bag and opened it.
