At a lot of restaurants, the special is whatever they need to sell before it goes bad. Especially watch out for the soup of the day. If it contains fish or if its some kind of "gumbo", it's probably the stuff they're trying to get rid of. Never ask for lemon in a drink. Everybody touches them. Nobody washes them. They just peel the stickers off, cut them up, and throw them in your iced tea. If a server doesn't like you, he might try to embarrass you in front of your business associate or date by bringing your credit card back and saying, "Do you have another card? This one didn't go through." People think that just because your food took a long time, it's the server's fault. Nine times out of ten, it's the kitchen.
在很多餐馆里，他们着急要卖掉要坏掉的食物。所以要特别注意当天的汤，如果里面有鱼或者秋葵，那可能就是他们想立马处理掉。绝对不要在饮料里加柠檬，因为每个人都摸过这些柠檬，却没人清洗过。他们只是剥下来然后切成片，就扔到了你的冰茶里。如果一个服务生讨厌你的话，他会想办法在你同伴面前羞辱你，他会把你的信用卡拿回来说：“你还有其他的卡吗，这个不能用。”人们总是以为你的菜上的慢是因为做起来费时间，其实是服务的原因。十有八九是厨房怠慢的原因。

eg. The paper was beginning to peel off the walls.
墙上的纸渐渐脱落了。
5. cut up
切开；切碎；
eg. The woman cut up the watermelon and shared it out among the four children.
那妇人把西瓜切开，分给四个小孩。
eg. Cut up the carrots before you put them into the pot.
把胡萝卜切碎后再放进锅内。
6. out of
（表示比例）每…中；
eg. About 26 million Filipino people, almost one out of every three citizens, cannot afford the basic medicine they need.
大约有二千六百万菲律宾人，即近三分一的人口，连基本的药费也无法负担。
eg. The professor scared the bejesus out of me when he said today that three fourths of the class failed.
教授今天说全班四分之三的人不及格，吓死我了。
