【解词释义】flat在该短语中意思为“全然的，彻底的，十足的”。此语出自莎士比亚的《亨利四世》上篇第二场。其中写道：...no eye hath seen such scarecrows. I’ll not march through Coventry with them, that’s flat...（译文：谁也没见过这么瘦的这么可怜的人，我不愿意带着他们列队经过芬特里，无需多言）。因此，此语的意思是：绝对如此，无需多言。
