【词义辨析】
same, identical, very, equal, equivalent
这些形容词均含“相同的”之意。
same可指相同的人或物，也可指在质量、外表或意义等方面相同，但实际上有差别的事物。
identical着重指人或物等在每细节上都完全相同。
very侧重指完全同一，没有区别。
equal多指在价值等方面相当而不相同的事物。
equivalent主要指有同样价值、效力或意义的两种不同的事物。

【词义辨析】
occur, happen, take place
三者都表示“发生”，都是不及物动词。
happen指“偶然发生”时，主语为“事”；当主语是“人”时，意为“碰巧”。happen to sb．／sth． 指不好的事情发生在某人（物）身上。
He happened to know the place.
他碰巧知道那个地方。
occur指“发生”时可与 happen 换用，但后接to sb．／sth．时，两者含义不同：；occur to sb．／sth． 指“某种思想等呈现于某人的知觉中”。
