able, capable, competent,
Some people are able to/can walk on their hands.
One day, scientists will be able to find a cure for cancer.
(NOT...will can find...)
The mistake is able to be corrected.
The mistake is capable of being corrected.
After a two-month tramp, they were able to reach their destination. After a two-month tramp they reached their destination。

He told the Commons his objective was to ensure that the ceasefire could be turned into a permanent peace.
