About an artist growing old

关于一位艺术家变老的故事

Some would try for fame and glory

一些人禁不住诱惑沽名钓誉

Others aren't so bold

另有一群人倒也不是这么莽撞

And everyone in friends and family saying ,"hey, go get a job"

不过，每个人都被亲朋好友怂恿着，“快去，找份工作”

Why do you only do that only

可是，为什么你只想着找工作

Why are you so odd?

为什么你要这样墨守成规？

"And we don't really like what you do

“我们不太喜欢你目前的工作

We don't think anyone ever will

我们觉着其他人也不会喜欢的

We think you have a problem

我们认为你有问题

And this problem's made you ill"

这个问题让你病了”

The artist walks among the flowers

这位艺术家在花丛中漫步

Appreciating the sun

享受着阳光

He's out there all his waking hours

他一醒来就去那里了

Oh, and who's to say he's wrong

好家伙，谁敢说他做错了

But the artist walks alone

但是，这位艺术家是独自一人散步

And someone says behind his back

有人在他背后评头论足

"He's got some gall to call himself that

“他定是有什么难言之隐

He doesn't even know where he's at"

And they sit in front of their TV saying "hey, isn't this a lot of fun"

And they laugh at the artist saying "he doesn't know how to have fun"
