我们总是有很多杂事要办，比如寄个信啦，买个东西啦，取款、领钱等等。这个“办点杂事”可以用run errands 来表示。

Errands 指的是短的行程，像寄信这些小事都走不了多远，所以run some errands 或是do some errands 就可以表示“办点杂事”。

比如：

　　She came late because she had to run a lot of errands before she came.

　　她来晚了，因为来以前她必须做许多杂事。

　　I want to run some errands.

　　我要去办点杂事。

有一个词跟run some errands 很像，就是chore，指的就是“家务，杂务”。

例如：After I finished chores, I sat down and had a cup of coffee.

做完家务活后，我坐下来喝了杯咖啡。

曾经在广播上听到一句很感性的句子，那是在母亲节的时候吧，主持人说：

I have to thank my mom. She spends her whole life taking care of her children and running errands.

我的母亲终其一生都在为照顾她的小孩和一些杂务奔波。
