Around 115 people have been killed after severe floods hit much of India. The worst affected is the southern state of Kerala, from where a maximum of 57 deaths have been reported. Over half a million people have been evacuated from the inundated areas in all these states and rehabilitated in relief camps. Rains are predicted to worsen in the coming days. In response, the local government to send military teams and aircraft to help with the relief effort.
