Landslides and floods in central Philippines have killed at least 85 people. The further 20 are missing as rescuers slowly reach cutoff communities. A tragedy has been caused by a tropical depression which brought days of heavy rain in several provinces. Officials have placed three provinces under a state of emergency to give them access to emergency funds. Around 20 tropical cyclones hit the Philippines every year destroying crops and infrastructure and taking a huge toll on human life.
