1. get used to...:变得习惯......

e.g. This is how we do things here. You'll soon get used to it.

e.g. Driving on the left is strange at first but you get used to it.

2. a share of...:一份......

例如:the robber's share of the stolen money的意思是“劫匪的一份赃款”。A fair share的意思是“应该得到的一份”,one’s share of的意思是“某人得到的一份”。和动词搭配使用如下:get a share of的意思是“得到一份.....”,give sb. a share of的意思是“给予某人一份......”。

e.g. You should get a fair share of the food to eat.

e.g. He did not mind giving his family a fair share of all that he earned, but he did not like to be forced to provide against his will.

e.g. Everyone who helped gets a share in the profits.

e.g. Your share of the cost is 10.

3. on one’s own:独立地

e.g. John quit his job and struck out on his own as a traveling salesman.

e.g. I can't believe he'd do a thing like that on his own. He must have been put up to it by some of the older boys.

4. be hard for...:对于.....

e.g. It is hard for anyone to escape from the ravages of time.

e.g. It's hard for some older people to take all that noise.
