1.【语意表述】安慰他人，某物或某人与某人在一起没有不好的事情发生，不会出现危机。

【句型模板】Somebody is safe with someone.

【指点迷津】be safe with someone的意思是“和某人在一起是安全的”。这个安全本意是指“人身安全”，在这里拓展为“工作，家庭等其它方面的安全”。

【句型操练1】 But don't worry, your secret is safe with me.

不过别担心，我会替你保秘的。

【句型操练2】I feel safe with you. I want to say that I love you very much and always will.

2. 【语意表述】某人就某事据以力争。

【句型模板】Somebody strengthens the argument against something.

【指点迷津】就某问题或某事的论点或论据，“argument”后面跟的介词是“against”。Strengthen是“加强，变巩固”的意思，strengthen the argument直接翻译是“使论据或论点更有说服力”，也就是“据以力争”的意思。

【句型操练】We shall have to strengthen the argument against his capital punishment.

我们必须力以据争，不要让他给判处死刑。

【句型出处】Then we must strengthen the argument.

3.【语意表述】某人让他人担任某职位。

【句型模板】Somebody make someone+表示职位的名词。

【指点迷津】make是使役动词，意思是“使得，让”，make后面可以接表示人的名词或代词，后面加用名词作宾语的补足语，是这个结构：make+N.+N.。

【句型操练】All of us will make John chairman of the students' Union.

我们所有人都推举约翰为学生会主席。

4. 【语意表述】某人独断专权够久的了。

【句型模板】Somebody has been an absolute ruler for long enough.

【指点迷津】“够久的了”可以说为for long enough。例如：

The enemy was at first deceived by feint on Berlin, but not for long enough. 敌人起初被我们对柏林的佯攻所欺骗，但这种情况并未维持多久。
