Arabian Wisdom
阿拉伯智慧
The heart is the noblest member of the body. A wise man said that the worst of men is he who allows an evil desire to take root in his heart; for he shall lose his manhood. A poet said:
心是人体最高尚的器官。有位智者说过，最坏的人是让恶念在心里扎根的人，因为他会丧失人性。诗曰：
The wise will keep
智者有心眼，
His treasure hid apart;
珍宝分开埋；
True gold is hidden in the heart,
真金藏心中，
A miner never had to dig so deep.
矿工也难挖。
Deal with people according to their deeds and not according to their words. Yet deeds are not worth the intentions which inspire them; so that each man shall be judged according to his intentions and not according to his deeds.
待人要观其行而不要听其言。然而行为又不及促成行为之动机重要；所以看人要看其动机，而不是看其行为。
Lukman the Wise said to his sons: "There are three things which are possible only under three conditions: you may not know if a man be really good until you have seen him in his anger；you may not know if a man be brave until you have seen him in battles; you may not know if a man be a friend until you have come to him in necessity."
智者鲁克曼对他的儿子说：“只有在三种情况下三件事才有可能：只有看到一个人发怒才能知道他是否真的生性善良；只有看到一个人战斗才能知道他是否勇敢；只有在困难时向朋友求助才能知道他是否是真的朋友。”

eg. You should deal with him more politely.

依照；依据；
eg. He will be punished according to the seriousness of his crime.
他将据其罪行的轻重受到处罚。
eg. We propose to furnish our own house according to our own taste.
