Fifty-Fifty
一半一半
A young man noticed an elderly couple sitting down to lunch at a fast-food restaurant. They had ordered just one meal.
一个年轻人注意到一对老夫妇坐在一家快餐店里吃饭。他们只点了一份套餐。
Then the older gentleman carefully divided the hamburger in half, counted out the fries until each had half of them.
然后老先生仔细地把汉堡一分为二，接着清点薯条，一人一半。
The old man then began to eat, and his wife sat watching, with her hands folded in her lap.
老先生开始吃他那一份。老太太坐在那儿看着他吃，双手十指交叉放在大腿上。
The lad walked up to them and asked if they would let him buy another meal for them so that they didn't have to split theirs.
年轻人走上前去问是否需要帮他们再买一份套餐，这样他们就不用分吃一份了。
The old gentleman said, "Oh, no. We've been married 50 years, and everything has always been and will always be shared 50-50."
老先生说：“不用了，我们结婚50年了，所有的东西我们都是一半一半分享，过去是，将来也是。”
The young man asked the wife if she was going to eat, to which she replied, "Not yet. It's his turn to use our teeth."
年轻人又问老太太要不要吃，她答：“我还不吃呢，现在该他用我们的牙齿。”
