I Know
我知道
A witness to an automobile accident was testifying. The lawyer asked him, "Did you actually see the accident?"
一场车祸的目击证人正在作证。律师问他：“你确实看到了那起事故吗？”
The witness, "Yes, sir."
证人答：“是的，先生。”
The lawyer, "How far away were you when the accident happened?"
律师：“当时你距离事发地有多远？”
The witness, "Twenty-nine feet, eight and one quarter inches."
证人：“二十九英尺，八又四分之一英寸。”
The lawyer smiled (thinking he'd trap the witness), "Well, sir, will you tell the jury how you knew it was exactly that distance?"
律师笑着（认为自己已经给证人下了套）问：“现在，先生，请你告诉陪审团你怎么会知道这么确切的距离的？”
The witness, "Because when the accident happened I took out a tape and measured it. I knew some annoying lawyer would ask me that question."
证人：“那是因为事故一发生，我就拿了一个卷尺去量的。我知道会有某个烦人的律师问我这种问题的。”
