抛招接招

抛招：We had a ball at the dance last night.

昨天夜里，我们在舞会上度过了非常愉快的时光。

抛招：How was your vocation? We had a ball.

假期过得如何？愉快极了！

接招：Have a ball中的ball在俚语中的说法是舞会的意思，have a ball意思是举办一个舞会。在舞会上，drinking，dancing， chatting，singing...... 你说高兴不高兴？当然是enjoy oneself a lot了。由此，引申为度过非常愉快的时光狂欢玩得非常痛快的意思。

我们回到上面的例句中来，注意2个语言点：第一个是at the dance，意思是在舞会上。第二个是询问别人情况如何用how is + something. 我们还可以用how about doing sth这个句型。

我们再来通过几个例句熟悉have a ball作为俚语的意思。

1. We intend to have a ball at the amusement park today.

我们打算今天到游乐场玩个痛快。

注解：at the amusement park：在游乐园里 intend to do sth：打算、计划做某事

2. I am gonna have a masked ball and I think my friends must have a ball at the ball.

我将举办一个化妆舞会，我想我的朋友一定会在舞会上玩得很开心。

注解：have a masked ball：举办化妆舞会 at the ball：在舞会上

3. Let's hit the bar, have a ball tonight !

今晚咱们到酒吧玩个痛快吧！

注解：hit the bar：去酒吧 （hit the road：上路）

4.We have a big pool in the backyard. My cousins have a ball splashing around in it.

我们的后院里有一个很大的游泳池。我的表兄妹一样一定会在游泳池里弄得水花四溅，玩得很开心的。

注解：in the backyard：在后院 splash around：把水弄得水花四溅 splashing around in it：现在分词短语，做原因状语
