今天放学后，Alice和陆明不期而遇走到了一起，看到了Dick。由于Dick家中富裕，要什么就有什么，挥金如土。像这样富贵弟子学习就更别提了。Alice评论Dick时，说了一个词，这个词是关于动物的，这让陆明纳闷许久。陆明心想自己听说过黑马，黑马就是藏在人群中要成大器的人。可从来也没听说过Alice提到的这个黑色的动物，那么Alice提到的是什么黑色的动物呢？我们不妨先来听听陆明和Alice在放学的路上的谈话内容。

Alice : Dick is a black sheep.

迪克是black sheep.

Luming : Black sheep? What's that, Alice? Black sheep?

Alice : The black sheep means the " bad person " in the family.

这里的黑羊就是你们汉语中的害群之马，家中的败家子。

Luming : Very bad.

Alice : As far as I am concerned, Dick is always bringing trouble to his family. All he does is drinking, gambling, and chasing foxy girls, let alone his study how terrible it is.

陆明现在知道了black sheep的字面意思是黑羊，实际上就是我们中文中经常讲到的败家子害群之马不肖子孙，指家中的一类。 正如Alice所言, it means " a person who is different, in a bad sense, from the rest of his family"那么，我们在来看几个例子来熟悉Black Sheep这个习语的意思。

Eg. After he had been in prison Peter was regarded as the black sheep of the family.彼得坐过牢之后，被看作是家庭中的不肖子孙。

Eg. Perhaps every profession has got its black sheep.也许每个行业都有害群之马。

Eg. He was the black sheep of the family after he had got involved in the bank robbery.在他被牵累进银行抢劫案后，就成了全家的败家子。

Eg. It is a small flock that has not black sheep.〔谚语〕人多必有败类。

Eg. There are black sheep in nearly every large family and these two were the Gerard's black brothers.几乎在每个大家庭里都有孬种，而这两个就是杰勒德家的孬弟兄。

2. Be involved in 涉及到, 与 ... 有关联

例句: They were involved in a long legal wrangle over payment.

Mary nudged my arm when they asked if anybody spoke Spanish but I didn't want to be involved in the argument.

Regard ... as...把 ... 看作 认为…是

例句: Petty criminals in the eighteenth century got the rough end of the stick when they were transported to Australia for what we would now regard as minor offences. 18世纪的轻罪犯们受到了不公正的待遇，那时他们因我们现在认为的小过错而被流放到澳大利亚。

It is suggested that we not regard money as important. 建议不要把金钱看得太重。

You just take your work well and pass over your boss's hard requirement. Just regard it as a challenge and go ahead of yourself. 你就做好你的本职工作，不要理会老板的过于苛刻的要求，或者就把它当做是一种挑战，超越自我。

I regarded Mary as a stranger. 我把玛丽视为同路人。

Bring trouble to sb 给某人带来麻烦

例句：His actions are sure to bring trouble to the school. 他的行为肯定会给学校造成麻烦。

拓展词语：to bring trouble upon oneself 惹火烧身

例句：It will bring trouble on yourself if you do so. 这样干要闯祸的。

He would quench the sunny moment, bring trouble on himself, and accomplish nothing. 这会把这个乐融融的时刻破坏,给自己带来麻烦,结果一事无成。

6. ashamed of 惭愧, 难为情, 羞愧

例句: I felt so ashamed of you. 我真为你感到羞耻。

He was so ashamed of his fault that he committed suicide. 他对自己的过错深以为耻，所以自杀身亡。

She was ashamed of her children's (bad) behaviour.她因为她的孩子不规矩而感到羞愧。

1. concern vt.涉及, 影响, 关心

语法用法：so far as ... is/are concerned，as far as ... is/are concerned，so far as concerns和as concerns都是就...而言的意思。注意后两种表达中concerns用复数不用单数。

例句：These problems concern all of us. 这些问题影响到我们每一个人。

How much money I earn is none of your concern. 我挣多少钱与你无关。

2. Gamble v.赌博, 冒险, 孤注一掷

例句: The gamble paid off. 赌赢了。

He spends all his time gambling in the casino.他把时间都消磨在赌场的赌博上

The company took a gamble by cutting the price of their products. 公司冒险将产品削价出售。

Chase vt.追捕, 追求

Why do modern people chase material possessions? 为什么现在的人们追求物质财富？

They caught the puppy after a long chase. 他们追了很久才把小狗逮住。

We must chase the enemy from our country. 我们必须把敌人赶出我国。

（1）追捕; 追逐; 追赶; 追击 （2）露骨地向某人求爱

My dog likes chasing rabbits. 我的狗喜欢追逐兔子。

He chased (after) the burglar but couldn't catch him.他追赶窃贼却未捉住。

He's always chasing (after) women. 他不断地追逐女人.
