台词精讲

Bobby: I'm taking you out for a fun surprise.

【口语句型】Sb does something for a fun surprise. （某人做某事，给某人一个惊喜。）

句型中的for a fun surprise是表示目的，意思是“为了给一个非常有趣的惊喜”。台词中是Bobby说道要带Hilda出去，给她一个有趣的惊喜。Take sb out的意思是“带某人出门，出去”。

Hilda: Do you not see the woman in curlers at the end of my arms?

【短语注释】at the end of是表示方位的介词短语，意思是“在.......的尾部”。它也可以用于表示时间的短语，意思是“在.......尾处”。台词中第一个用法。例如：

【短语精讲】figure out有很多的意思。在台词中的语法用法，figure这个动词后面接宾语it，宾语it后面跟有宾语补足语。Figure something out的意思是“心里弄明白某事情的来由了，领会某事情了”。例如：

I simply couldn't figure out his intention. 我简直揣摩不透他的用意。

I can't figure out what he was hinting at. 我想不出他在暗示什么。

Bobby: You're being mean because you're almost done raising a kid and now you gotta it all again.

【文法解析】主句谓语的结构式be+being+adj.表示暂时的情况，而不是永久的情况。台词中是指Hilda目前出现反常的情绪是暂时的，而不是永远都是这样的。例如：

We are being friends. 我们是朋友。（备注：我们只是暂时是朋友，而不是永久都会是朋友。）

【文法解析】原因状语从句中谓语的done raising a kid中的raising a kind是动名词短语作done的宾语。

He was criticized for his delay in taking care of the matter. 他由于没有及时处理这件事而受到批评。

此外，这个短语还有2个意思，在此做下拓展，一个是“杀掉”，一个是“抵消”。
