台词精讲

Betty: I actually fell into traffic.

【解词释义】fall into是一个固定短语，意思是“陷入，掉进，落入”。例如：

One slip on this mountain and you will fall into the abyss. 在这座山上一失足便会跌入万丈深渊。

Don't fall into bad habits. 不要养成坏习惯。

台词中的fall into traffic直接翻译是“陷入交通”，在本句台词中是指：撞上交通事故。

Betty: I was ten blocks away from st.Vincent's, so I just kept going,and fortunately, it was a long wait,so I could write my piece.

【口语句型】Sb is +表示距离的短语+away from somewhere. 这个句型表示：某人距离某处还有多远。此句型中的away from的意思是“远离，相距”。例如：

【口语句型】Somebody e-mails sb +基数词+words.这个句型表示：某人给他人发送了多少字的邮件。例如：
