1993 - A fire into the 51-day siege of the Branch Davidian compound near Waco, Texas. Flames consume the structure after Federal agents begin smash their way inside. Religious leader David Koresh and dozens of hisfollowers die in the fire.


1956 - Oscar winning actress Grace Kelly marries Prince Rainier of Monaco and becomes Princess Grace.
