China launched two astronauts on a 33-day space mission, the country’s longest-yet. They will dock with an experimental space laboratory, launched last month, that is a testbed for a station that will go into full-time service in 2022. China has spent billions in recent years to match the spacefaring ambitions of America and Russia, and to compete with India and Japan.
