Betty: I'm doing this project outside of work, and I need a place to do interviews and a photo shoot.

【短语精讲】outside of work的意思是“在业余时间，非工作时间”。例如：

The new position challenged him to study still harder out of work. 那个新职位激发他在业余时间更加努力学习。

To join these institutions he will have to pass their examinations by studying out of work. 要参加这些学会，他必须在业余时间学习，以便通过这些学会的考试。

【短语注释】do the interview：做采访 a photo shoot：拍照（名词性短语，动词短语为shoot a photo）do a project：做一个项目

Amanda: Well, no, but I didn't know you'd be giving up my apartment for good.

【短语精讲】give up在这句话中的意思是“放弃不要，拱手让出”“投降，放弃，认输”。例如：

We had to give up the castle to the enemy. 我们只得把城堡拱手让给了敌人。

【短语精讲】for good是表示时间的副词行短语，意思是“永远地”。例如：

【短语精讲1】a big deal可以指“要人”，也可以指“重要的事情”，也可以指“重要的交易”。在台词中是第二个意思。在口语中经用为”It is not a big deal. (没什么大事。没什么了不起的。)“例如：

I don't hide it, but I don't make a big deal about it. 我并没有掩藏，但我也没有大肆渲染。

I'm sorry, I got carried away. It's not a big deal, just please next time take the dog for a walk. 对不起，刚才我有点失控了。其实，也没什么大不了的，只是下次记得遛狗就行了。

【口语短句】We are done. （我么已经做完了。）

Ps：如果表示“做完什么”，在done的后面用借此be done with sth. 例如：

Oh, why not a hundred thousand and be done with it. 嘿，干吗不说十万金元，那不就结了。

Let' s spend another half an hour painting and then have done with it. 我们再画半个小时把它画完吧。
