1. preface

双语释义：begin or introduce (a speech, etc)

[vt. ] 开始（讲话等）; 作（讲话等的）开场白

语法用法1：~ sth with sth

语法用法2：~sth by doing sth

典型范例：She prefaced her talk with an apology.

她先为迟到表示歉意, 然后开始讲话。

2. date

双语释义：person with whom one has a date

1. be awkward for：对于某人来说尴尬的，对某人来说不便的

范例：It would be, well, rather awkward for me to call on you.
