45.Three Engineers

There were three engineers riding along in a car.

They were an electrical engineer, a mechanical engineer and a computer engineer.

Suddenly， the car broke down.

The electrical engineer said, "Maybe it's a dead battery."

The mechanical engineer said，"Maybe the fan belt broke."

The computer engineer said，"Let's close all the windows，open them again，and see if that fixes it."

Notes:

1.There were three engineers riding along in a car.

有3个工程师坐在一辆汽车里。

"ride"可以表示“骑(机动车、自行车)”或“骑马”,也可以表示“搭乘（交通工具)。这里的along不要和alone（单独地)弄混了，两者发音、字形相似，但意思完全不同。

他们一个是电机工程师，一个是机械工程师、还有一个是电脑工程师，

maybe和perhaps都是表示“可能；也许”，但是一般日常生活口语中多用前者，正式场合或书面用语则应使用后者。它们通常都放在句首。

6.The computer engineer said，"Let's close all the windows，open them again，and see if that fixes it."

电脑工程师说：“我们关掉所有的窗户，再打开，看看是否能修好它。”

每当电脑死机或有异常时，通常会关掉所有的视窗 (windows)或重新启动.电脑工程师也用相同的模式来处理他所面临的问题。殊不知，此windows非彼windows。
