Change

A professor was giving a big test one day to his students. He handed out all of the tests and went back to his desk to wait.

Once the test was over, the students all handed the tests back in. The professor noticed that one of the students had attached a $100 bill to his test with a note saying “A dollar per point.”

In the next class the professor handed the tests back out. This student got back his test and $64 change.

【词汇讲解】

1.test测验／卷子。在文中“A professor was giving a big test one day to his students.”的test是“测验”的意思。而“He handed out all of the tests and went back to his desk to wait.”中的test则是“试卷”的意思。

2. hand out分发，给予。I don’t need you handing me out that sort of advice!我不需要你给我那种劝告。He was said to like handing out.据说他乐善好施。这个短语还有“搀扶”的意思：hand sb. out of the bus扶某人下公共汽车。 连起来的handout的意思有：施舍物、传单、新闻通报、声明等。
