1. in the form of ：以......的形式

讲解：在文中有个现在分词winning修饰form，winning的意思是“胜利的”。那么in the winning form直译为“以胜利的形式”，意译为“以胜利则会的姿态”。要表示“以取胜于某人的姿态”，在短语的后面接介词of，再接这个人的名字，文中说到的in the winning form of Robert Dudley。

例句：I'd rather take care of the stomachs of the living than take care of the glory of the dead in the form of stone memorials.

3. have no intention：无意，没有意向

讲解：表示无意向做某事，可以在短语的后面加上介词of，一定是of，然后再加名词或动名词短语等，即：have no attention of something( or doing something )。

例句：We have no intention of lying down under these absurd allegations.

对这些荒谬的指控我们是不甘受辱的。

They have no intention of seeking truth from facts, but only a desire to curry favor by claptrap.
