很多人都向往去国外留学，尤其是留学美国。但事实上留学并不是一件很容易的事情，下面我们一起来看看留学美国都有哪些基本要求：
学历要求（academic background）
对于中国学生来说，申读美国大学本科课程至少要高中毕业，申读硕士课程要本科毕业，并拥有学士学位。申请学校和专业时应尽量符合个人的教育背景、工作经历及兴趣爱好。
英语要求( English level)
美国大学都要求学生在申请时提供英语成绩，基本要求为：申读本科，托福（Test of English as a Foreign Language）英语作为外国语的考试）不得低干500分。申读研究生，不仅要求托福550分以上，可能还需要提供其他相关成绩，如理工科、文科及数学专业要求提供GRE（Graduate Record Examination．美国研究生入学考试）成绩，商科专业要求提供GMAT( Graduate Management Admissions Test，管理学研究生入学资格考试）成绩，医科专业要求提供MCAT(Medical College Admissions Test，医学院入学考试）成绩，法律专业要求提供LSAT（Law School Admissions Test，法学院校入学考试）成绩等。
经济要求( financial condition)
由于学校和专业不同，美国大学的学费相差很大。一般来说，社区大学（community university）的学费为每年2000美元左右，而有些优秀的私立大学（private university）每年的学费和膳宿费高达28000美元。
签证要求( visa)
赴美留学的签证要求较高，除具备良好的学历及专业背景外，是否获得奖学金( scholarship)也是获签与否的一个重要因素。若能获得美国大学的奖学金则可以在很大程度上增加获签的机率。
