Well, good morning! Looks like you are all very excited to be here. Welcome to Google I/O. This year marks our fourth year of this conference.
We thought we begin by just reminiscencing for a few moments about how much we have accomplished together. You go back to 2008. That was the first year we held Google I/O. Maybe some of you were there at our annual conference. That year our opening keynote focused on client, connectivity and the cloud. While we recognized this industry was going through dramatic change that mobile phones, smart phones and fast web browsers were changing the face of clients. And that the connectivity was about to explode both in its availability as well as its bandwidth, and that would allow us to build cloud-based services that we could hardly have dreamed of a few years ago. All that happened. In 2009, on this staget we rallied the industry with the Chrome team to move the web forward under the banner of HTML5. And today, modern browsers are btter and faster because of the work of this group of people. So thank you. And that who could forget last year? When we focused (people begin to laugh with the appearance of a cute picture on the screen.) That (the picture) was a lot of fun. We want to thank all of you for making android the global phenomenon that it has become.
