Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Good morning. It's a great pleasure for me to come to Guangzhou and attend this summit. First of all, on behalf of the Cyber Supervision Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security, I would like to extend my congratulations on the successful opening of this summit. Today's summit, organized by Guangzhou Cyber and Information Security Association and other organizations, provides a great opportunity of exchange of information and gathering of experts in the industry. From home and abroad, friends are gathering here to communicate and discuss issues related to information security.
Today, the trend of global informationization develops rapidly, coming along are complicated and severe cyber crimes, which poses increasing danger to society. Thus information security becomes an issue of particular importance. Information security is closely related to every aspect of national economic and social development. Bearing in mind the task of building a harmonious society, we have to increase the social awareness of information security. Protecting information security is not solely the task of relevant government departments. We shall involve the whole society in it. In particular, we shall bring the industry associations into full play, and evoking the active performance of enterprises. In recent years, the Chinese government and relevant industries have carried many experiments and discussions on improving national information security and have accumulated precious experience. However, that is far from enough. We shall continue to make efforts in the future exploration. The 2006 China (Guangzhou) Information Security Technology Summit & Exhibition is successfully opened today. It will provide us with rich experience in promoting the international communication on information security. We shall encourage such activities. Let's work together to further promote the improvement of information security protection in China. Last but not least, I wish today's event a huge success!
Thank you! (Full text of the remarks by Fu Jianguo, Deputy Director General of the Cyber Supervision Bureau, Ministry of Public Security, at the International Computer Network and Information Security Conference on November 14, 2006, as transcribed)
