The Long Road Home

回家的漫漫长路

Kathy and Evan have left Stockholm and are driving back to Amsterdam to return their rented car.

凯西和艾凡已经离开斯德哥尔摩，正开车回阿姆斯特丹归还他们租来的车子。

E:As the Chinese say, "All feasts must come to an end."

艾凡:就如中国人说的:“天下无不散的宴席。”

K:Where did you hear that saying?

凯西:你在哪里听到这句谚语的？

E:I read it in a book somewhere. It's a very interesting proverb. Nothing lasts forever, does it?

艾凡:我在某处的一本书上看过这句话。那是一句很有趣的成语。任何事物都不能永久持续下去，是不是？

K:Well, I suppose true love does.

凯西:不过，我认为真爱能永恒持续。

E:Uh, yeah, I guess that could be true.

艾凡:呃，也许吧，我猜想那可能是真的。

K:What do you mean, you "guess" it could be true?

凯西:你是什么意思，你“猜想”那可能是真的？

E:Well, uh, I've never, I mean I've never actually been in love before, you know, I mean, with, with someone outside my family.

艾凡:呃，是这样的，我从来没，我是说我以前从来没有真的恋爱过。妳知道的，我的意思是，和……和我家人以外的人

K:Well, I have.

凯西:嗯，我有。

E:Oh? When was that?

艾凡:哦？那是什么时候的事呢？

K:In high school. But I guess that was just puppy love. It didn't last.

凯西:在高中的时候。但是我想那只是少男少女间不成熟的迷恋罢了。那段爱情没有持续下去。

E:Anyway, I've really enjoyed traveling in Europe with you, Kathy. You're a great partner. You don't complain much, your habits are OK, and you have a great sense of humor.

艾凡:不管怎样，凯西，和你同游欧洲我真的很快乐。你是一个很棒的游伴。不怎么会抱怨、你的习惯还好，而且很有幽默感。

K:Well, thank you! And you, Mr. Whiting, are a good partner, too. Would you like to do this again?

凯西:嗯，谢了！而你怀汀先生也是一个很好的游伴。你想再来这样一趟旅行吗？

E:Yes, actually, I would. But after we pay off this trip!

艾凡:想呀，实际上，我会的。但是要在我们付清这趟旅行的费用之后才行！
