当我们谈论某人或某事怪怪的时，有一个最恰当的英语单词：weird，怪怪的，它可以用来形容一个人，也可以描述一件事有些蹊跷。

Tony is a little weird, be careful when you’re talking to him. 　托尼这人有点怪，和他谈话时要小心点。
The atmosphere here is weird, what’s going on? 这里的气氛有点怪，发生什么事了？
Carrie is weird about her hair. 凯丽对她的头发过度紧张。

下面，要介绍一个很活用的口语表达法：Here’s the thing，意思是“是这样的，事情是这样的，问题是”：
Here’s the thing, even if I could get it together enough to ask a woman out,
whom am I going to ask?　问题是，即便我鼓足勇气去邀请某个女人，我又该去邀请谁呢？
Here’s the thing, I don’t have anything to wear for the party.　问题是，我没有去参加派队穿的衣服啊。
You know, here’s the thing, there’s nothing available in the kitchen.　你知道吗，问题是厨房里什么吃的都没有。
Here’s the thing, I offer you 20% discount, your payment will be made within 10 days.　这样吧，我给你20%的折扣，你要在10天内付款。
Here’s the thing, I give you 5 more days to think about it.　这样吧，我再给你5天时间考虑。
