一.worry:vt. 撕咬，使烦恼，使焦虑 vi. 担心，发愁 n. 担心，烦恼，忧虑
【词义辨析】
1.anxiety, worry, care, concern,
anxiety: 指对预料中的不祥之事的焦虑。
worry: 侧重对未知事态演变的忧虑。
care: 强调因出于责任感或顾虑等而产生的不安。
concern: 作“关心”用时，是indifference(冷漠)的反义词，侧重对他人健康、安全等的关心，也可暗示对困难、危险或失败等的忧虑。
2.worry, brood, care, fret,
worry: 普通用词，着重使人焦虑、烦恼或深深不安。
brood: 语气比worry强，多指沉思、沮丧或忧郁。
care: 多指极强烈的关心和忧虑。常带纯客观的意味。
fret: 通常指因悲哀、焦虑或忧愁等所困扰的心理状态。

【词语用法】
1.help表示“帮助”时，后接不定式或宾语和不定式，但绝不不可接动名词。
This book will help (to) improve your English.
美国人常将句中的to可省略。
注意当被动语态helped被使用时，to一定不可省略。
You will be helped to improve your English.
2.help表示“避免”时，后接动名词，但是不可接不定式。
I cannot help thinking so.
3.cannot help同cannot but都表示“不能避免，不得不”，前者后接动名词，后者接没有to的不定式。
I cannot help thinking so.
I cannot but think so.
第一句比第二句用法普遍。
4.在美国有cannot help but接不含to的不定式格式。
I cannot help but think so.
5.在美国，help还可表示为“佣工”，既可指单个，也可指多个。
