抛招接招

不知大家参加过这样的派对没有：刚开始大伙儿谁也不漏声色，派对上是鸦雀无声，气氛颇为沉闷，搞得这次派对的邀请者很是尴尬。可是后来，只要有一个人开了头，展示了自己的看家本事，那么大伙儿就凑起热闹来了，争先恐后地要展示自己的绝活。好，今天Juliet就教您一招说开始——开个头。请接招啦！

抛招：It looks like a dull party with everybody just sitting there. But Dick started the ball rolling by telling a couple of funny jokes. And then Jack brought out his guitar and sang some folk songs. People started singing along and we had a good time after all.

聚会一开始，大家都坐在那里，看起来很沉闷。后来Dick讲了几个挺滑稽的笑话，总算开了个头。然后，Jakc把他的吉它拿了出来，还唱了几首民谣。大家也跟着一起唱起来，我们终究还是玩得很愉快的。

接招：Start the ball rolling的英文解释为make a beginning of something or begin an activity or a conversation。中文意思就是开个头（特别指在会议上可是谈话），开始一个活动。用之来表示这个意思也是很形象的，从字面意思来看，它的意思是让球滚动起来，这就很形象地引申为开个头的意思。用之表示通过什么方式开个头以什么事件开个头，我们则在rolling这个单词的后面加上表方式的介词by，即：start the ball rolling by something (or by doing something )。我们还可以用动词get和set来替换片语中的动词start，即：get the ball rolling，set the ball rolling。

我们再通过不同情境下的例句来熟悉这个片语的意思以及用法。

在商务职场业务洽谈上，我们都希望用最优惠的价格和最实惠的的东西跟别人打开门路，以便业务开展得红火起来。下面我们就来商务洽谈上的例子：

1. All right, we agree to meet you halfway in order to start the ball rolling.

好吧，为了开始做生意，我们同意让一步。
