A recent media report says the population of single people in the Chinese mainland equals to the total population of Russia and the UK combined. The general impression goes like this: single ladies and guys tend to spend more on themselves and therefore has emerged as a major consumption power, but some analysts say single people not only don't spend much, but may also hurt the economy.
