原句重现：I shouldn't have lost my temper,and I certainly shouldn't have treated you like anything less than a client.

在英语学习中许多学生不能确切区分no more than和not more than这两个短语，让我们来看看它们的区别：
1. 在数量上进行比较时，no more than = only， 作"仅仅；只有"解，有数量少的含义。not more than = at most，作"至多；不超过"解，说明一个事实。如：
(1) in all there are probably no more than a total of 400 tigers left there. 那里所剩的老虎总量也许只有400只。
(2) not more than fifteen students passed the exam. 最多十五名学生通过了这次考试。

2. 在程度上进行比较时，no more than 有"两者都不"之意，not more than有"不及"之意。如：
(1) this film is no more interesting than that one. = neither this film nor that one is interesting. = this film is not interesting. nor / neither is that one. 这部电影不见得比那部电影好看。（即：两者都不好看。）
(2) this novel is not more interesting than that one. = that novel is more interesting than this one. 这部小说不及那部小说有趣。（只强调有趣的程度不同这一事实。）

另外的两个短语not less than与no less than也是比较容易混淆的：
1. 在数量上进行比较，not less than + 基数词表示"不下于；至少；不止"。no less than + 基数词表示"达......之多（言其多）"。如：
(1) there are not less than 40 students in this class. 这个班级至少有40个学生。
(2) no less than 1,000 people were missing in the earthquake. 地震中失踪人数多达一千人。

2. 在程度上进行比较，not less than 表示"不比"。no less than表示"和......一样"。如：
(1) the old copy of the dictionary is not less expensive than the new one. 旧版的词典不比新版的便宜。
(2) she is no less clever than her brother. 她和她哥哥一样聪明。
Sports wears, no less than suits, are very much saleable. 运动服和西服套一样，非常畅销。
My world is silent, to accommodate no less than others. 我的世界是寂静无声的，容纳不下别人。

1．no less than不少于, 多达; 不亚于...; 和…一样, 不少于

2．not less than不少于; 至少

4．not more than至多, 不超过, 不比...更...
He is not more than a teacher. 他天生不是当教师的材料.

5．nothing less than只不过是(正是,简直是,无非是); 完全是，实在是; 和……一模一样(=neither more nor less than 简直，和……完全一样)

6．nothing more than无非是(正是,简直是); 无异于, 就是; 不过是,仅仅是

7．more or less或多或少; 差不多, 几乎, 大约

8．more often than not往往, 多半; 常常
