Laughing matter是指“无关紧要的事，开玩笑的事”，no laughing matter意思就是“一点也不是开玩笑，可不是闹着玩的”。这个俚语现在多用来告诉对方，请认真考虑和严肃对待所要处理的问题。所以如果碰到同事有什么冲动的想法，你就可以对他说:It's no laughing matter.
