Chinese now have a chance to experience some of the best exhibits from France's most prestigious museum the Louvre. An exhibition is underway at the Palace Museum in Beijing's Forbidden City.
Li Ji is the vice curator of the Chinese museum.
"This first cooperation effort between the two great museums brings the history of the Louvre Museum and Napoleon, an important figure in French history, to China."
Li Ji adds that about 100 items will be displayed, including paintings, sculpture, and porcelain from the Napoleon era.
The Palace Museum, one of China's most comprehensive museums, was established on the foundations of the Forbidden City, the ritual center of the Ming and the Qing dynasties and contains a collection of their treasures.
The exhibition will last until early July.
