The Olympic torch relay has concluded in Hefei, capital city of East China's Anhui province on Wednesday.

A minute of silence was observed before the event started.

Li Na, the Olympic diving champion, runs first during the torch relay. Torchbearers carried the sacred flame across the city along a route stretching 10.8 kilometers.

Along the route, citizens in Hefei carried banners with sincere words to support people affected in the recent massive earthquake.

One woman voiced her thinking.

"All the Chinese are tough when facing disaster. The unity of our people can surely make us overcome the difficulties."

Donations have also been held during the torch relay.

The sacred flame will be relayed in Huainan and Wuhu in Anhui province on Thursday.
