Photo Exhibition about China Kicks Off at Pakistan

A large photo exhibition titled "China in the camera" is being held this week in Pakistan.

Featuring China's achievement since it began to implement the reform and opening policy three decades ago, the exhibition is also part of the celebrations for the 57th anniversary of the establishment of Sino-Pakistani diplomatic relation.

To pay tribute to over 50,000 killed in the recent earthquake in southwest China, one minute of silence was observed at the opening ceremony. Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan Fahmida Mirza says as friends under-all-weathers, her country shares the same sorrow and sadness with China, and she hopes with help with neighboring countries, people in the quake-hit region can recover from the tragedy soon.

"Pakistan can never forget the help and support it received from China when a similar tragedy hit us. We stand by you. We are most eager to offer our help in whatsoever manner. We are also confident that the great Chinese nation will march out of this crisis with dignity and courage."

Mirza also said her government opposes any attempt to politicize the upcoming Olympic Games and believes it will be the most successful games in the Olympic history.
