在今天的课堂上，我将要来学习的是含有nod的一个idiom。它可以表示：to be chosen for something 。那么，可以表示这个意思的习语是什么呢？请看下面的例句。

例句-1：Her daughter got the nod as Miss Hong Kong six years ago.

例句-2：Last year he got the nod to attend a conference of advanced workers with one voice.

在上面的例句中，我们可以看到都用到了同一个短语：get the nod。这就揭开了我们开篇的疑惑——可以用来表示“to be chosen for（被选中）”这个意思又含有nod这个词语的习语是：get the nod。

首先，我们来细看Example One——Her daughter got the nod as Miss Hong Kong six years ago. 这句话是说：她女儿六年前当选为香港小姐。表示“被选中作为（什么职位，荣誉称号等）”，在get the nod后面用介词as。句中是got the nod as Miss Hong Kong（被选中为香港小姐）。

接下来，我们来细看Example Two——Last year he got the nod to attend a conference of advanced workers with one voice. 这句话说：去年他被一致推选出席了先进工作者会议。在这个句子中，我们注意三个要点。

第一个要点是表示“被选中去做某事”，使用动词不定结构，即：get the nod to do something。句中说到的是get the nod to attend a conference of advanced workers，to attend a conference of advanced workers是动词不定式做目的状语。

第二个要点一个过去分词短语：advanced workers（先进工作者）。Advanced是动词advance的过去分词形式，做定语修饰workers，放置于被修饰名词workers的前面。

第三个要点是一个副词短语：with one voice。With one voice的意思是“一致地，异口同声地”。For another example：Everybody sang high praise for her devotion to the cause of education with one voice.（大家异口同声地称赞她献身教育事业的精神。）
