原文+答案解析
017.
I've just come back from a trip to the USA. During the trip, I visited New York, where I stayed for three days. Unlike the usual fine weather, it was cold, rainy and windy day when I went to the site where the twin towers had been standing, and where new construction work was going on. The New Yorkers were very friendly and helpful. They were willing to answer my questions about the September 11 terrorism attack on the World Trade Center. Since the site was fenced with wire nets, visitors were not allowed to get in. I was lucky that an old couple offered to take me to a nearby high building. Through the big windows on a higher floor, I could see the big hole in the ground and people working down there. It's said that various designs have been collected and are being discussed to replace the emptiness.
