1. You didn't tell me you were an artist.
时态一致，表示句子的时态必须从头到尾都是一样的。即：

谓语动词的时态与时间状语的时态一致； 　　
从句的谓语动词时态与主句保持一致； 　　
直接引语的时态和间接引语的时态转换； 　　
例如： 　　
1) 如果从句所叙述的为真理或不变的事实，则永远用现在时。
At that time, people did not know that the earth moves. 　　
He told me last week that he is eighteen. 　　
2) 宾语从句中的助动词ought, need, must, dare 时态是不变的。 　　
He thought that I need not tell you the truth.

2. marry 与 married

关于marry的用法:
V.1) 与(某人)结婚,嫁或娶(某人)
They married when they were yong.
Jane is going to marry John.
2) 为(双方)主持婚礼
They were married by her father, who's a bishop.
新娘的父亲是主教,为他们主持了婚礼.
3) 使(某事物)与另事物结合
She marries wit and/ with scholarship in her writing.
她的写作中融合了智慧和学识.

married adj.
1) 结婚的,已婚的.married to sb.
He's married to a famous writer.
2) married to sth.专心于某事物.

3. leave for: leave这个词，唯一与for连用的意思是离开某地去某地。比如：

他昨天去了北京。He left for Beijing yesterday.
他昨天离开上海去了北京。 He left Shanghai for Beijing yesterday.
