Workers from the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of 29th Olympiad, or BOCOG, have left the capital for Greece. They are scheduled to make preparations for the Olympic torch lighting ceremony.

Standing on the path to the lighting ceremony site, director of BOCOG's torch center Liu Ying says her organization is trying its best to create a great Olympic atmosphere.

"We have placed decorations along this path. They will demonstrate the Olympic spirit and the spirit of China as well. By doing this, we are determinated to create an excellent atmosphere for the torch bearers. "

All the preparations for the torch lighting ceremony will be finished by March 22.

After the lighting ceremony, two Chinese torch bearers will carry the sacred torch in Greece.

Liu Hongliang is one of them. He is an environmental engineer from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and he says he is very proud and honored to be a torch bearer. His father, Liu Changchun, was the first and only Chinese athlete to take part in the Olympics in 1932.

"Now, we are hosting the Olympic Games with the support of 1.3 billion people, who are keen to be involved in this event in different ways. My father was alone at that time. This is a sharp contrast."

Popular singer Lee-Hom Wang is the other torch bearer. He says he will compose songs to salute and share the passion for the Beijing Olympic Games.

The two are to carry the torch in the relay on March 24th, the day of the lighting ceremony.
