Bush Endorses McCain as Republican Presidential Nominee
U.S. President George W. Bush endorsed John McCain as the Republican presidential nominee at White House on Wednesday.
Later, the two emerged before reporters. Bush applauded McCain for his courage and strength.
"John showed incredible courage and strength of character and perseverance in order to get to this moment, and that's exactly what we need in a president."
He described the 71-year-old Arizona senator as "somebody who can handle the tough decisions, and somebody who won't flinch in the face of danger."
John McCain garnered more than 1,191 delegates required for the presidential nomination the previous day.
On the democratic side, former American first lady, Hilary Clinton, is back in the race to become the Democratic party candidate for the United States presidential elections.
Clinton won three of the four state primaries, Texas, Ohio and Rhode Island. Only the state of Vermont went to rival Barak Obama on Tuesday.
"They call Ohio a bellwether state, it is a battleground state. It is a state that knows how to pick a president. And no candidate in recent history, Democrat or Republican, has won the White House without winning the Ohio primary."
Despite losing three states, Obama still has more delegates to the Democrat's national convention later this year.
