U.S. soldier released in exchange for five Taliban detainees
His captors waved his dog tags as proof. Now, the U.S. soldier seen in this undated video is free and on his way home. He's Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl. Held by the Taliban for nearly five years. On Saturday, President Barack Obama said Bergdahl was in U.S. custody. His long ordeal, some of it captured on video, had come to an end.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) VOICE OFF CAMERA: "Now that you have been captured by the Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, what are your feelings?"

As part of his release, the U.S. is turning over to Qatar five Taliban detainees held in Guantanamo, Cuba. U.S. Officials say Bergdahl's freedom follows months of indirect talked between the U.S. and the Taliban, with Qatar as mediator. The officials say U.S. special forces took custody of Bergdahl in a non-violent exchange in eastern Afghanistan. He's said to be in good condition and undergoing a medical examination at Bagram air field.

The Bulldozers move in to clear Ukraine's Maidan square. Vitaly Klitschko, the former heavyweight boxer and mayor-elect of Kiev, says it's time for the demonstrators to leave. Some have been camped out here for more than six months, choosing to stay on even after their protests helped bring down former president Yanukovich in February. They say they're holding out for a genuine democracy and an end to corruption. Even now, not everyone wants to go. A hardcore of protesters were making their presence felt on the streets on saturday.
Taylor Swift brings 'Red' Tour to China
One of the city's most anticipated concerts ever. US country-pop star Taylor Swift took to the stage onFriday night. It was her first and only stop in China, part of her 14-month long "Red" Tour, which is reaching its grand finale in East Asia.Culture Express's Mu Fangzhou was there among the star-struck fans, to witness fastest-selling concert ever in China.
It's officially the last leg of her Red Tour, and the sold-out Shanghai gig proves that Taylor Swift is at the top of her game, or of anyone's game in the music business People praise her for her total commitment and fan fervor, but for the fans here tonight, it's all about singing along and sing their heart out.
"I first heard Taylor's songs on the radio, and I fell in love with them. That was when I was in senior high school. Since then I've bought all her releases. I really connect to her songs." an audience said.
"We're from the same town in Pennsylvinia. This is realy awesome to see here here in Shanghai." an audience said.
The set mostly featured songs from the album "Red", Swift's latest studio recording and the theme of her world tour.
The 14-song setlist may have been a little shorter than expected, but that meant the show was nothing but non-stop hits.
The audience played their part - with placards, glowsticks and screaming at the top of their lungs. Many showed up in red,the unquestionable theme of the night. And despite the language barrier, there's no doubt that the feeling in the music is universal.
"She's pretty, and she writes her own songs based on her own experiences. That's cool to me." an audience said.
"I like her because she sings what she wants to sing. Her stories are quite personal and emotional sometimes, but that shows she's very brave." an audience said.
When it comes to the pure music, Taylor takes her emotions and turns them into mega-pop tunes. She's a master of the stage...and while she can certainly dance, she's more comfortable behind an instrument.
Despite being a true arena goddess, Swift seemed genuinely overwhelmed by the enthusiastic response from Chinese fans. She's promised to come back and play more dates in China in the future.

Japan inflation picks up
Japan is moving closer to its 2 percent inflation target for next year. A raft of economic way-points were out on Friday, including those closely tracked inflation numbers.
The country’s 3 percent sales tax increase last month spurred core consumer prices to jump 3.2-percent annually in April, its quickest growth pace since 1991. Core CPI takes out volatile food prices but energy prices are still included in the calculations.
Jobs data and industrial production were also released. Industrial output grew 4.1 percent year on year, missing forecasts. It’s at the slowest pace of growth in 8-months.
Meanwhile, on a month-on-month basis, industrial production dropped 2.5 percent, crumbling to its biggest fall since the Tsunami of 2011.
On the jobs front, the unemployment rate remained at 3.6 percent in April, unchanged from March. Some analysts say a tighter labor market will continue to push wages up for employees.
Bank of Japan watchers say given the pick-up in April’s inflation numbers, the central bank could delay potential easing plans in June.
