Syrian opposition leader visits rebels in Idlib
叙利亚反对派领导人探访叛军
The Western-backed leader of the Syrian opposition, Ahmad al-Jarba, is paying a visit to rebel fighters in the northern Idlib province. It's his way of showing support for them. In video obtained by Reuters, Jarba spends some time with the rebels before getting into the trenches himself. Jarba was re-elected as the Syrian opposition's leader for a second six-month term in January. He had previously participated in the UN-mediated Geneva peace talks that produced little progress. Though it was agreed that the opposition and government would meet again at a later date. The civil war in Syria is now weeks away from it's three-year anniversary.

CCTV9:京东商城出炉信用卡购物服务
JD.com launches shopper credit service
京东商城出炉信用卡购物服务
China's second-largest online retailer JD.com, or Jingdong, is about to launch a virtual credit card service. The service will let shoppers buy items at the company's online marketplace on credit. This is the company's first move into consumer finance, and comes two weeks after it announced plans for a U.S. IPO.
The new service will offer qualified consumers a credit line of up to 15,000 yuan, or 2,470 U.S. dollars.
The biggest spenders won't necessarily get the biggest credit lines. The E-commerce giant says credit quotas will vary and will be based on customers' shopping records and their comments on purchased products.
"To put it simply, when a client buys baby products in large quantities, it shows the client has a stable family and a child. There's no doubt this client is highly credible and stable. Based on such information, we are able to offer such clients credit lines, whose risks are difficult to assess in traditional banking," said Xu Ling, Director of Consumer Finance at JD.com.
JD.com says its service fee will be about half that of comparable services offered by banks. JD.com has started a two-day beta phase and approved users will be able to activate the service on Saturday. For now, the virtual credit card service may attract more online shoppers, but may become a full-fledged revenue earner in the future.
Analysts expect more companies to venture into consumer finance, which stands at only 18 percent of China's total loans.

周洋赢得冬奥会女子速滑冠军
There have been plenty of highs and lows for the host nation and China continues to add to its gold medal haul in Sochi, with victory on the ice. But on a much sadder note, early on Saturday morning, Russian ski cross racer Maria Komissarova broke her spine during training. Thankfully, according to a statement from the International Olympic Committee, her emergency operation was successful.
On a another great day of competition for Chinese skaters, China’s short track champion Zhou Yang managed to successfully defend her 15-hundred meter Olympic title. She won the gold medal in dramatic fashion, just avoiding a collision that wiped out three of her rivals.
Meanwhile, hosts Russia ended the day on a high, Alexander Tretiakov won gold in the men’s skeleton and speed skaters Victor An and compatriot Vladimir Grigorev completed a one-two finish in the men’s one-thousand meter short-track event.
But in a much-hyped group-stage men’s ice hockey clash, the United States defeated Russia in a dramatic shoot-out. The teams had finished regulation play level at 2-2, Russia having a third goal controversially wiped out. But in the end, center TJ Oshie, known for his shootout prowess, scored the winner for the US, capping one of the great Olympic encounters between the two nations.
In the men’s speed skating competition, Poland’s Zbigniew Brodka won the 1,500 meter long track gold by the tightest of margins just 3,000ths of a second ahead of rival Koen Verweij of the Netherlands.
