上列对话中，damn是个粗俗不雅的用词，一般常听到的表达语如：“Damn it!”（该死！），“Damn you!"（混蛋o），都是不礼貌不悦耳的，因此，有教养有文化的人应尽量避免使用。
另外，“…you'll be spending the weekend in your room．”相当于“…you'll be grounded for the weekend.”，此处ground作动词，通常用于被动语态，故“be grounded”表示“被禁足”。
