On the International Children's Day, people around China have sent gifts to children who have survived the devastating earthquake in Sichuan Province.

But China Youth Daily says the best gift for the children is a promise from adults that they will not be hurt again.

We adults should promise that we will protect those children and never let them be harmed. We may not be able to prevent natural disasters, but we should try our best to avoid those could be prevented.

We should promise to them that no matter how poor we are, we will build the strongest schools for them and let them always feel safe.

The paper also says we should promise that we will consider children's matters from their point of view. What's more, we should not only care and love our own children, but also tend our love to other children.

And the Children's Day is the right time to make such promises, because it is a day when children expect more materials and spiritual aid to them.
