今天我们学习的表达是：It take guts to do sth.

表示“做某事需要勇气/胆量”；

这个结构说起来有点点难度，里面包含了形式主语和真正的句子主语（动词不定式）

eg: It takes guts to do something like that.

要做那样的事情，需要勇气。

eg: It takes a lot of guts and hard work to get where he is.

要想到达他现在的成就，需要很多的勇气和努力。

eg: It takes a lot of guts to admit to so many people that you’ve made a mistake.

在这么多人面前承认你犯了错误，需要很大的勇气。

其实说到guts的相关用法，我们已经不是第一次见了，

其实口语中guts，很经常这么用。

to have enough courage, conviction, or resolve to do sth.

你总说要辞职，但是我觉得你没那个勇气。

eg: I know it can be difficult, but you’ve got to have the guts to stand up for your beliefs.

我知道这很难，但是你应该为你的信念挺身而出。

eg: She didn’t have the guts to tell him she was going to move out.

她没那个勇气告诉他自己要搬出去了。

eg: She had the guts to decide what she wanted and go for it.

她有决定自己要什么，并且有勇气去追求它的勇气和魄力。
